Paintball markers

A paintball marker is just another name for a paintball gun. People that play the game call it a paintball marker. These markers are used to shoot paintballs trying to hit the opposing player. If they do hit them, it's called a "hit".

These markers or guns are very easy to notice if you are playing in the woods and trees because most of the guns are black and they are easy to pick out amongst all the colors of the forest.

It's important to note that paintball markers are really not guns. Guns shoot bullets while the paintballs shot by the markers are made of liquid filled soft shells and they are fired at very low speeds, relatively speaking.

Now that doesn't mean they are not dangerous because they can be if you are not properly protected.

Paintball markers are designed with a main body, an air tank or gas system to propel the balls, the barrel and a location called a hopper where the paintballs are stored before they get shot out and used in action or practice.

A good paintball marker has a good aim and can shoot paintballs accurately. Some additional accessories that you can buy to make your paintball journey more enjoyable are: a helmut, vest, hoppers and scopes if you have a sniper rifle. You may also want to stock up on the best protective gear they have.

As mentioned earlier, paintball markers are not toys and can be considered dangerous when you read the manufacturers disclosures and warning labels. If the markers are used as they are designed and you conform to the rules, you should be ok. As always, make sure you have the proper protective gear.

Paintball markers are powered by CO2. This has long been the industry standard. One recommendation would be to rent a marker the first few times you play or practice just so you get used to the paintball gun and can discover your likes and dislikes.

If you are in school, paintball markers ARE NOT allowed on any campus. You run a risk of serious consequences if you bring one to school. Just don't do it.

One brand of marker is a Tippmann. Tippmann's are not created with looks in mind. They are easy, dependable, comfortable for holding, and useful guns. If you are going for the tactical look and feel, the Tippmann X7 paintball markers are a good way to go.
